Job Description for Personal Assistant

 

Post Title:     Personal Assistant

 

Job Summary:    

To be responsible to the Service Manager.

To work for Carers Choice in acting as a support worker for the main carer of an adult with learning disabilities.

 

Specific Job Description

 

The appointment will only exist whilst the service is in being and whilst funds are available and whilst the post is required within the structure of the service.

 

  • To act as a PA for Carers Choice.

  • PA's are required to provide supervision of personal and general care similar to that already provided by the carer, so that the regular carer has relief to pursue other activities.

  • PA's may be required to work outside of the home environment as agreed by the regular carer/statutory services and the Service Manager of Carers Choice.

  • PA's may also be required to attend arranged activities as agreed by the regular carer/statutory services and the Service Manager of Carers Choice.

  • PA's may also be required to use their car/public transport in the course of their duties, for which they will be reimbursed in their next wages. Also any activity for which the PA has to pay will be reimbursed.

  • PA's should follow any reasonable request of the regular carer concerning the care of the person with learning disabilities.

  • PA's are required to respect the confidentiality of both the clients and the service AT ALL TIMES.

  • Duties also can include taking the person (being cared for) out to experience new stimuli e.g. clubs, sporting activities, use of transport, etc.

  • To undertake such duties that are from time to time assigned by the Service or Manager/Management Committee which are in keeping with the aims of the service.
